On July 2006, Besam Australia acquired the Orchard Group of Companies including Perth Door Services, Melbourne Door Services, National Door Services NSW and National Door Services QLD. Besam is the largest automatic door manufacturer in the world and is part of the ASSA ABLOY group of companies that include Lockwood, Yale and Whitco. The consolidation of Besam’s existing business with that of the Orchard Group gives the company added strength as well as significantly increasing our ability to provide quality products and services.

National Door Services was part of a group of companies who had been installing, servicing and maintaining automatic doors, revolving doors, roller shutters, automatic gates, and fire doors for over 20 years.

Originally the company started by supplying and installing new products to large building and construction projects for other manufacturers.

As cities grew and commercial districts and industrial estates flourished, the requirement for our type of products grew, and it became obvious that there was a need for a company who could provide a same day Emergency Service in the event of breakdown or mechanical failure. Customers wanted to be sure that their installation would be fixed on time in an efficient and effective manner, and that the safety and security of their staff, customers and buildings would never be compromised.
