Besam Australia Pty Ltd accepts that the health, safety and welfare of its employees is of the utmost importance and will manage its facilities in such a manner to ensure as far as is reasonably practicable, the highest standards of health, safety and welfare are maintained in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act, associated Regulations and Codes of Practice.

Besam Australia Pty Ltd accepts the responsibility to ensure, so far as reasonable practicable a workplace that is safe and without risk to health. Management will provide and maintain a safe working environment for the health, safety and welfare of our employees, contractors, visitors and members of the public who may be affected by our work.

In order to achieve these objectives we will focus on:

• Compliance with safety and workers compensation legislation and any relevant Standards or Codes of Practice, as far as is reasonably practicable to do so.
• Ensuring managers, supervisors and employees are held accountable and responsible for OHS performance.
• Manage OHS risks through effective consultation between managers, supervisors, contractors and employees.
• The provision and maintenance of premises, plant and substances through the identification of hazards, assessment of the risk posed by those hazards and elimination or control of those risks.
• The provision of such information, instruction, training and supervision as may be necessary to ensure our employees’ can safely and competently carry out their work.
• The provision of adequate information and instruction for contractors and visitors.
• The expeditious return to work of injured workers to pre-injury duties or suitable alternate duties.

Besam Australia Pty Ltd acknowledges that directors and managers have overall responsibility for guaranteeing a safe workplace and encourage the support and contributions of its supervisors and employees.

Supervisors and employees are responsible and accountable for cooperating with the procedures and site safely rules established and for assisting Besam Australia Pty Ltd by reporting issues which may have an adverse effect on health and safety.

Contractors and visitors to our site are responsible and accountable to comply with our site safety rules and for adhering to any instructions given to them by authorised company representatives.
